Ryan,
You have done something beautiful here. I am not here to write a scripted prose that grabs the hearts and minds of your audience, nor do I want to drain you with my philosophies on human rights or theories on political solidarity. I'm using this space to just say thank you.
Thank you for honoring the histories of our heroes, preserving their memories, and uplighting our generation with imagery that respects our authentic experiences. Thank you for taking your time to add a new dimension to MLK's vision for us, setting the bar high and pushing your peers to be greater beyond their imaginable measure. Thank you for your bravery, for always never compromising the truths of your subjects, and taking after those who have gone above and beyond for moments like these to transpire.
I don't think I can find the right words that full captures my experience at your event yesterday. But I do thank you for all the work you have done for people like me to feel a part of something bigger than themselves. I am honored to have had the opportunity to witness history in real time with you.
Cheers to you.
Regards,
-N.
